Daimler Violations

On September 14, 2020, the U.S. Department of Justice lodged civil settlement and filed a corresponding complaint against Daimler AG and Mercedes-Benz USA, LLC (collectively “Daimler”) to resolve claims for alleged violations of the Clean Air Act, including installing defeat devices in model year 2009-2016 diesel passenger vehicles sold in the United States. Daimler may propose emissions modifications for each category of affected vehicles. If EPA and the California Air Resources Board (CARB) approve these modification plans, vehicle data will be published on fueleconomy.gov for the modified vehicles.
